Safer Communities: A Model of Community Based Sex Offender Treatment

Sex offenders represent a heterogeneous population. Effective sex offender treatment takes into account the heterogeneity of the population in order to address the individual needs of an offender. In this workshop, the presenter will discuss a model for evidence- based sex offender treatment. The importance of a comprehensive assessment and subsequent individualized treatment will be emphasized.

The presenter will discuss ways in which the treatment team and law enforcement can work in collaboration to achieve safer communities by managing sex offender recidivism.
